Radiance

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011
“Radiance is a feeling that is born in the body when the other parts of self love have been tended to. When you have created safety and nurtured your physical body, freed your mind, and cultivated deep pleasure, radiance naturally begins to explode from you.”

Moving the Body

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011
“Blindfolded, I try to focus on my breathing as loud, pounding music fills my ears. I move and try not to bump into the myriad bodies that I know are around me. With my blindfold on, I put on an intention to come deeply into my body. The music seems to go on forever, and I move through waves of fear, pain, nausea, and weakness. I have been told to keep moving, even if I only sway and breathe to the music, so I keep on moving. I move through numbness, I move through ignorance, I move through fear, I even move through feeling ridiculous. I keep dancing. I dance even though I have been ill and my body and lungs are weak. I dance with trust that Spirit will guide me. I feel the black jaguar spirit merge with mine, the totem of my sexuality, and we dance to stalk the prey of a passionate life together. We purr, growl, stretch, and flex our claws. I keep moving, and the music keeps pounding. I worry I will bump into the person next to me, or that I will do too much and faint and be trampled. I put my trust in the facilitators and I keep moving. I hear a rattle come through the space near me, and my body feels it clearing the air around me. I keep moving. Finally the music comes to an end, and I lie down on the floor and I fly. I leave my body, which has been thoroughly worked, and I cruise into a land of pure Spirit, where my guides welcome me.”

Rubies in the Dust

Monday, August 1st, 2011
“In the practice of Soul Gazing and journeying through the caverns of our souls, we sometimes stumble across a ruby lying in the dust at our feet. If we pick it up and polish it, we may discover that it is a talent or bit of wisdom that we buried long ago to avoid something in our lives. Now is the time to bring this ruby out into life and to wear it proudly around our neck as a symbol of once again embracing that talent. In my own trance journey practice, these gems often merge with my body, symbolically becoming part of me again. Be on the lookout for these gems when you journey to the underworld of your own being. Perhaps you used to sing, but gave it up because your parents told you it was a waste of your time. Or perhaps you always wanted to be a painter, but got discouraged by trying to find time and money to create. Reclaiming these parts of yourself gives you a depth of soul that will support and strengthen you in life, and gives you many parts of yourself to embrace in times of difficulty. Wear these gems proudly and you fully embrace your richness and complexity, for all humans contain a world of thoughts and feelings and creation within themselves.”

Reconnecting to You

Friday, July 29th, 2011
“Part of the practice of tantra is learning to connect and detach consciously, and with love. One benefit of this practice is a greater sense of wholeness and peace within yourself. It also allows us to come to each partnering fresh, letting go of the past, and of all the things that can get in the way of our spiritual practice with another. And finally, the practice of consciously reconnecting to ourselves after being in partnership gives you a chance to know who you truly are within, without the influence of others in your life. This process of unfolding to ourselves is a kind of wisdom, but wisdom has never really been my goal. Since I was a little girl, all I wanted was to live a joyful life, and indeed that is what many people, fragmented and wounded, long for. Even those who are happy always have room for more joy. Joy is a frequent result when we fully embrace our freedom. “

Right Relationship

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011
“Ayni is a Quechua (aboriginal Peruvian) word for “Right Relationship”. It refers to cultivating a spiritual alignment with the world so that we are not always bumping up against the other beings in the world and creating chaos.

It is important to cultivate this Ayni not only within yourself, but also within your partnership. Being in right relationship with your partner can sometimes require difficult acts of courage, like returning phone calls and using civil language even when you are really angry. Like going to a healer or therapist for help in retooling your inner world. Like reading this book and doing the exercises in it. Like being willing to reveal to your partner what is truly alive inside your being. . The work of relationship is not easy, but is is simple. It is a process of continual excavation and polishing until one day you finally unearth the diamond inside you. The pressures of life create the diamond. Sometimes the struggles and difficulties in relationship cut the facets of the diamond. But eventually it is polished and ready, and you are at peace.”

Opening to Bliss

Moon in Aquarius — Expect the Unexpected

“When my heart is fully open, I feel loving and sexual at the same time. There is an openness and compassion that helps me expand my consciousness out all around me, not only to the universe of stars and planets above, but to the universe of people all around me. Others can feel this energy coming from me, drawing them in to my personal space for some inexplicable reason. An open heart makes us more receptive to love, more likely to find love and keep it flowing in our lives. Work to open your heart through practicing kindness and gratitude, as well as doing the practices in this chapter. Expanding his heart, the man discovers that an open heart is not to be feared, that his abilities as a lover expand, and that lovemaking becomes a powerful spiritual and emotional experience. Many men come to me in my private practice complaining of dissatisfying and empty sex lives. They instinctively know that there is something more to the whole thing, but they aren’t quite sure what it is. This opening of the heart is part of the key to that puzzle. A woman’s journey is almost the opposite of a man’s. In healing her heart, the woman finds herself opening more sexually, and becoming more willing to connect deeply with men. As she opens, she draws men to her like a magnet, and her experience of connection with them becomes more joyful and ecstatic. To experience these things, to shift the heart, requires patience, surrender, dedication, and unconditional love.”
