Enthusiasm or Impulsivity?

9 days until my beloved returns. Enthusiasm? How about impulsiveness? Let’s call it what it is. I have always had trouble with acting before taking enough time to think things through. Last night I was glad my beloved was away, because I got myself all riled up about something that hasn’t even happened yet. Having him gone forced me to sit and think about it instead of calling him up and needing to talk about it, perhaps creating some wreckage in my wake.

So instead I applied my enthusiasm to myself and went on a shamanic journey to talk to my guides about all this. Such a simple 15 minute practice that can give so much relief! I’m happy to report that my fears have been quelled. It’s a good reminder that the most important job I have is to take care of myself. It’s up to me to keep doing the things that keep me sane and balanced. And the main thing I’m hearing? Use all this enthusiastic fire energy to create, to feed my own passions. No need to turn it on others…
