Keeping the Peace

Do not pass go, do not attempt to collect $200 and do not — repeat, do not — allow yourself to be in the vicinity of whoever or whatever it is that pushes your buttons—-astrology.com
Today I went to see “Percy and the Lightning Thief” with my son and his father. It says a lot I guess for both his Dad and I that we don’t push each other’s buttons. Over the last several years of being separated and then divorced, we’ve developed the ability to communicate clearly and avoid touchy subjects. It’s a gift.
There was a time when anything that my wasbund said would light me up like a pinball machine, even the most innocuous comment. It’s been a lot of practice in keeping my mouth shut (remember the duct tape comment a few days ago?), but it has definitely paid off. So we enjoyed breakfast together and the movie, and it was a genuinely pleasant experience. It’s nice when I can see the positive influence of my growth in my life so clearly.
